Designer Clothes
by Marcia Connors
Designer clothing today is more affordable than ever before. Designer names are now in J. C. Penney, Sears and the nicer departments stores of course. But they also exist in Wal-Mart and K-Mart. This makes finding designer clothing easier than ever before.
The young set is especially fond of designer clothes. While the older generation find it enjoyable at times to wear designer clothes, the younger generation often believe it is mandatory fashion.
It’s hard for them to believe that their parents grew up sewing their own clothes and few names even existed in designer clothing. Of course, then Levi jeans were simply the most durable fabric available for work. They were for manual work in the fields or in construction. There was no such thing as designer jeans. If there had been, they would not have been appropriate for any office.
Designer clothing today can make even jeans look sharp and dressy. Along with jackets of luxurious fabrics and bright colors, jeans are even worn to nighttime functions. Women are seen in fur coats along side women sporting jeans at symphony concerts and Broadway plays.
The multitude of celebrities that now produce their own designer clothes make shopping for women’s clothing fun and affordable. It’s always enjoyable to have the freedom to wear whatever strikes your fancy.
