July 20

Started on Tom Venuto program today, after reading his ebook for 4 days.
No, it did not take that long to read it, but I wanted to start on an even numbered date.
It was hard eating all that food, but it did take away my desire for a quick snack. Here is what I had during the day:

Breakfast 1:
  • oatmeal with equal and 2% milk
  • 10 cherries
    Breakfast 2
  • can of tuna, drained
  • brown rice
    Lunch 1
  • can of tuna, drained
  • brown rice
    Dinner 1
  • salmon loaf with cucumber sauce
  • baked sweet potato
  • brown rice

    July 21

    Breakfast 1
  • oatmeal with 2% milk
  • hard cooked egg

    After breakfast I started on my cardio: 5 minutes and I was breathing hard.

    Breakfast/Lunch 2
  • can of tuna, drained, in lettuce leaf
  • sweet potato, baked
    Lunch 1
  • 1 cup lowfat cottage cheese
  • banana
    Dinner 1
  • chicken breast
  • cucumbers and tomatoes, sliced
  • brown rice

    I went shopping today and bought 1% milk, low fat cottage cheese, egg whites, salmon fillets, chicken breasts. The tomatoes and cucumber I got out of my garden. I hope I can get to 5 meals a day, as advised by Tom Venuto. Also am getting tired of the tuna.

    July 22
    Breakfast 1

  • 4 hard cooked egg whites
  • grapefruit

    Did my walk for cardio-1 1/2 times around the yard.

  • cottage cheese
  • grapefruit
    Lunch 1
  • chicken breast 3 oz
  • steamed eggplant and zucchini
  • banana
    Dinner 1
    Boy, this is getting easier by the meal.
  • 3 oz. chicken breast
  • brown rice
  • tomatoes and cucumbers, sliced
  • steamed eggplant and zucchini

    After dinner I did a few excercises with weights. I am taking it kind of easy at first, as I have not been excercising for a few months (and you can bet it shows).
    I am going to try for the 5th meal, chicken and zucchini,sliced tomato. No heavy carbs for the 5th meal, only fiber carbs. (vegetables)

    July 26
    I decided not to bore with you my meals. Needless to say, I am up to 4 meals per day, some days 5. I have come to like tuna, especially in a 12 grain bread sandwich. I also walk around the yard 2 times, instead of 1.
    Weighed myself today (cheated - l day early. I have lost 4.5 lbs.
    Got an Accumeasure by mail yesterday. Seems like I have 35% body fat - wow and whoa. I need to get down to 16 to 20%. I will try for the 20%.

    August 1
    Last Thursday I had lost a total of 5.5 lbs. I am trying to avoid my scale, as I want to be (pleasantly) surprised next Thursday, at my weigh-in and fat measuring.
    I am still just doing 2 laps around my yard. Find that after that I am out of breath. Still doing weights 3 times a week. Maybe I will shoot for 4 times a week.

    August 3
    Yea! My weight has dropped by 10 lbs. since I started on July 20 with Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle BFFM
    Also, my fat measurement is down from 24 to 20. I am so getting used to eating 4, sometimes 5 meals a day, And walking for cardio, and doing a small amount of weight excercises. Boy, I am so happy!

    August 5
    Ach! I weighed myself last night, and had gained back 3 lbs 4 oz. Probably just the water I drank all day, and retained some of it. Water weighs about 8 lbs. per gallon.
    I know better now than to weigh myself at night, and from now on I will wait until my usual weigh-in on Thursday morning.
    Another benefit of the BFFM system, is that I no longer drink 10 to 15 cups of coffee per day. I used to drink 4 or 5 cups of coffee made in the coffee maker, and then the rest of the day I drank instant coffee. No decaf for me, either.
    Now I drink only 1 coffee, usually in the morning after my cardio, and once in a while I will have another cup, usually leave it unfinished.

    August 7
    Still doing everything right. Another benefit: I no longer wake up in the night, and then can't go back to sleep for 2 or 3 hours. Other than waking up to go to the bathroom, (the results of drinking water, water, and more water), I get a good nights sleep.

    August 10
    I have lost 3 more lbs. this week. I am starting to lose my stomach. I was like a man's beer belly.
    I have started doing abdominal crunches since last Monday. I could only do 10 the first day, Monday, and 15 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
    It is supposed to get up to 100 degrees today, our hottest day of the year. I have plenty of fans, but no air conditioning. I stay inside during the heat of the day, and drink plenty of water. In fact, I start drinking water in the morning, and continue until just before I go to bed.

    August 20
    I only lost 2 lbs. this past week, weighing myself on August 17. Still, that is a total of 15 lbs. in 4 weeks, and I only expected to lose 2 lbs. per week, for a total of 8, so I am ahead by 7 lbs. I am down to about 1/2 cup of coffee per day. It is do hot that I am constantly drinking water, instead. I read that for every cup of coffee, one must drink 1 cup of water in addition to 8 to 12 glasses of water per day. I must confess that I do not miss my peanut butter and margarine sandwiches that I had every day, sometimes 2 sandwiches at a time. What a lot of fat I put into my body, and it showed!
    By the way, Tom Venuto's ebook, Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle, is NOT a diet book, but rather a way to lose weight by eating more, not less. And it really works. No diet mentality anymore!!!

    November 2, 2006
    I weighed myself today, and have lost a total of 31 pounds. It is showing on my face, which is getting more wrinkles, so I will have to increase my face exercises.
    All this in spite of the fact that this week I drank beer (lite), ate enchiladas and tacos, and ate quite a few chocolate candies left over from Hallowe'en.

    April 16, 2007
    I have finally gotten back to my blog. I was so busy from November with Thanksgiving, December Christmas and Channukah, and on New Years Eve I was in Times Square in NYC. What a fabulous city! And the food was out of the world! (pricewise and delicious). But, I still stayed at my weight even with the eating at great restaurants and fab deli's. As of last week, I was at my goal of weighing 135 pounds. I still need to work on my abs other pockets of fat. Arms, definately, and behind. My daughter Julie wants to lose weight for our family reunion in California July 28. I sent her a link to my favorite weight loss program, as it is the one that works for me. The link is below:
